Prague will support rescuers with hundreds of millions of crowns

At their Monday meeting, the Prague councilors approved the support plan for the integrated components of the rescue system for the coming years. The money will go, among other things, to the reconstruction and construction of city and state police offices or to the purchase of fire equipment and the construction of a fire station in Prague-Březiněvsi. In total, it will be more than 234 million crowns.
As the representatives of the municipality state in a press statement, the councilors of the capital have approved an increase in support for Prague constables, police officers and firefighters for the following years. Approximately 205 million crowns are planned to be allocated to the concept of reconstruction and construction of services of the Municipal Police and the Police of the Czech Republic, which are in the property entrusted to the municipal districts.
The plan envisages investments from 2023 to 2025. The reason for the support is mainly to secure the environment for the performance of activities and police officers in the metropolis. The funds will gradually be part of the city in the form of purpose-built investment donations based on requests and fulfillment of the conditions for drawing. For next year it is a total of 74,935,000 crowns, in 2024 it will be 73,800,000 crowns and in 2025 a total of 56,350,000 crowns.
Reconstruction and new fire station
The city is planning further investments in the buildings of the Services Administration of the Capital City of Prague, which are used by the City Police. In total, more than 5 million crowns are earmarked for reconstruction and further modernization. Specifically, it will be the replacement of windows, reconstruction of facades and other work at the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of the Municipal Police for Prague 15, where the estimated costs are 2,500,000 crowns.
Furthermore, the replacement of the electric boiler with the subsequent adjustment of the heating system in the building of the Municipal Police Department. Here are the estimated costs of about 250,000 crowns. The next event will be the construction of a sewerage and drainage system at the headquarters building of the Regional Directorate of the Municipal Police for Prague 5 for a total of 300,000 crowns. The seat of the District Directorate for Prague 2 is awaiting complete window renovation, which should cost approximately 2 million crowns.
As the municipality also states in the press statement, the investments will also concern the Fire Rescue Department of the capital city of Prague. Prague will provide Prague firefighters with 15 million crowns to co-finance the purchase of firefighting equipment and almost 10 million crowns to co-finance the construction of a fire station in Prague-Březiněvs.
