Hannover 96’s U23 parted ways with Eintracht Norderstedt without a goal
They tried everything until the end, but in the end they could be happy to have taken a point. The U23s from Hannover 96 couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against FC Eintracht Norderstedt in the Regionalliga Nord at their home Eilenriede Stadium.
Hanover. The second chair wasn’t really needed, the place next to the new assistant coach Timo Struckmeier remained empty. Head coach Daniel Stendel followed the Regionalliga game of his 96 reserves against Eintracht Norderstedt. Mostly with his arms crossed, his hands in his pockets, gesticulating or holding his bottle of water. The 0-0 in front of around 500 spectators in the Eilenriede Stadium watched the 48-year-old standing.
Stendel changes the starting XI to four positions compared to the 2-1 loss in Jeddeloh last weekend. Franck Evina was suspended, while Marcel Rau, Marian Rutkowski and Adem Podrimaj found themselves on the bench. Instead, Joyce Philippe Luyeye-Nkula, Eric Uhlmann, Yannik Lührs – and Ensar Skrijelj, who was committed on Monday, were in the starting XI. The 22-year-old attacker last played at SV Heimstetten in the Bavarian regional league and was allowed to try his hand at Norderstedt as the sole striker.
