a 13-year-old girl saved from drowning by two rescuers at sea in Wissant
The young girl is fine, she was evacuated to the Duchenne hospital in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
A young girl was saved from drowning by two rescuers at sea this Wednesday in Wissant, Pas-de-Calais. The scene took place around 2 p.m., when passers-by spotted the 13-year-old swimmer in great difficulty outside the swimming area, being carried away by the current, informed BFM Littoral, with rescuers in sea, confirming information from The voice of the North.
The girl evacuated to the hospital
Two sea rescuers from Wissant then entered the water to pick her up. They first secured it with a “tube buoy”, also facing the current, before taking it out of the water.
The young swimmer was examined. Some seawater was found in her lungs and stomach, but the teenager is fine. She was evacuated to the Duchenne hospital in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Rudolph Giolet, president of the National Society of Sea Rescuers (SNSM), recalls the importance of bathing as much as possible in supervised areas. If the beach of Wissant was supervised this Wednesday until 7 p.m., the young girl appeared outside this space.
