It was 1832 when the very young pastry chef Franz Sacher, at the age of sixteen, he created for the prince Clemens von Metternich the one that represents a real one dessert icon. Passionate about chocolate, he made it the main ingredient of Austrian cake par excellence (here revisited by our Iginio Massari) which has gone through time remaining a true symbol of the pastry art.
Not surprisingly, the place that best represents its history, the very famous Sacher coffee in Vienna, it has become a destination for experts, enthusiasts and onlookers who want to savor a slice of cake prepared according to the original recipe, sitting at one of the elegant tables that fill the refined interior rooms or overlook the cake dedicated to walking. And today that “Cafe”, its style and the history that distinguishes it, is about to arrive in Italyprecisely a Trieste.
The opening is scheduled for Christmas 2022, according to a project born by the two Austrian entrepreneurs Dizzi Alfons and Erich Bernhardt which, obtained the license from Sacher Café in Viennahave decided to bring its flavor and magic to Trieste, also known as the “Vienna by the sea “.
The cafeteria is housed in the rooms in via Dante 1, or rather where the historic “Rosini” shoe and leather goods shop stood. The idea is to respect the furnishings and the stylistic choice of the original Café, emphasizing the design of the interiors of the building, dating back to 1913with the important support of the architect Aulo Guagnini and a group of restorers and artisans of renowned professionalism.
