The Forum 2000 conference will start in Prague today, the central topic will be Ukraine

Prague – The 26th edition of the Forum 2000 international conference will start today in Prague. The topic will be the threat to democracy and the response to it. It will include a high-level conference in Ukraine, which will follow up on the informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries of the European Union. The conference will be opened by Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS).
The forum for Ukraine will focus on the situation in the country attacked by Russia. The participants will deal with the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, the country’s European perspectives, or the issue of investigating war crimes. The theme of Ukraine will accompany the entire three days of the conference. In addition, the speakers will deal with, for example, Chinese threats to Taiwan or the issue of building global democratic unity and solidarity.
In addition to Fiala, speakers from Czech politicians will include Speaker of the House Markéta Pekarová Adamová (TOP 09), head of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil (ODS), foreign ministers Jan Lipavský (Pirates) and for European affairs Mikuláš Bek (STAN), vice-president of the European Commission Věra Jourová or MEP Alexander Vondra (ODS).
Many foreign guests will also participate in the conference. In addition to a number of heads of diplomacy, including Ukrainian Minister Dmytro Kuleba, for example the President of the European Investment Bank Werner Hoyer, journalists, analysts and human rights activists. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi should also join remotely.
Forum 2000 was founded in 1997 by then Czech President Václav Havel, writer Elie Wiesel and Japanese philanthropist Jóhei Sasakawa. Their intention was to provide a space for personalities from various fields to analyze the challenges of the new millennium.
