Slavia Prague vs. Teplice: Preview and betting tips
Slavia fans recognize him as the leader of the cabin, not so much as a striker. Stanislav Tecl probably has his best shooting years behind him, but the last three matches he played in the starting line-up, he scored four goals, assisted once, and fans of the stitched team enjoy the performances as well.
When Slavia beat Pardubice 7-0 a week ago, the Fortuna arena stands were satisfied that Jindřich Trpišovský’s men were in a great mood for the European Conference League playoff rematch with Raków Czestochowa.
But there were also fans who found a negative in the high triumph. “Tecl scored a hat-trick against the average Pardubice, that will definitely put him up against Raków and they are on a completely different level,” sounded in Vršovice after the final whistle.
So it really happened and Tecl figured in the lineup for the rematch. Although he did not make a mark as a shooter, he did a lot of work at the point in duels with well-built stoppers. He left everything on the field and left the game at the end of the second half.
After the 120-minute battle with the Polish vice-champion, many Slavia players were tired, which is why Tecl jumped in again from the start on Sunday. And it was a good move by the coaches, Tecl gave his best performance this year.
His 1-0 goal was very lucky and the duo Lukáš Provod and Oscar Dorley played a major part in it, the other two goals were Tecla’s work. First, a great assist on David Douděra’s goal, then an elegant finish and a precise pass after a blind run to Oscar, whose center was the subsequent own goal.
Tecl’s performances have risen even if we ignore productivity. Compared to last year, he is doing better in one-on-one fights, but above all, he is running more at the point. Last season, he was often criticized not for a bad ending, but for an insufficiently active press. On Sunday, in the 70th minute, he struggled at the tip of the attack.
