The Norwegian forward signed a three-year contract with Brøndby, confirms the Danish capital team Tuesday evening.
– Brøndby has shown great interest in me, and that has meant a lot to me. I am happy that the club change finally went through. I’m sure I can help the team with the experience I bring with me. I am looking forward to meeting the teammates and getting to know them, says Omoijuanfo to the club’s website.
TV 2 previously reported that Omoijuanfo had traveled to Copenhagen on Tuesday morning to complete a transfer to Brøndby.
The Danes and the Serbs agreed on a transfer worth close to 10 million Norwegian kroner.
Ohi will be part of a Norwegian battalion: Sigurd Rosted, Henrik Heggheim and Sebastian Sebulonsen form a trio of Norwegians in the club from before.
The transition saga about Omoijuanfo to Brøndby has been going on for several weeks. It has been ten days since TV 2 first reported a bid from Danes.
Since then it has been a lot of back and forth because Red Star sold another striker, Milan Pavkov, to Saudi Arabian Al-Fayha.
On Saturday, Omoijuanfo started his first league game of the season for Red Star. He scored a goal before being substituted before any time was wasted.
In the last few days, Røde Stjerne must have found a replacement for Omoijuanfo in the squad, so now he is seriously approaching a transfer after just over half a year in Serbian football.
Omoijuanfo has scored 12 goals in 24 games for Røde Stjerne.
Last year he was top scorer in the Eliteserien with 27 goals in 29 games for Molde.
He has one Norwegian A international match on his CV, against Sweden in 2017, but was also part of the squad for Ståle Solbakken in October last year.
