Ensemble Inégal is preparing two extraordinary concerts dedicated to the work of the phenomenal Czech Baroque composer Jan Dismas Zelenka in the autumn season. The music ensemble, which has already won many prizes, under the leadership of conductor and organist Adam Viktory, has been devoting itself to the discovery and performance of Zelenka’s works for more than 20 years. The season will begin on September 4 from 7:30 p.m. with a concert at U Salvátora church in Prague. On it, Ensemble Inégal will perform two large works by Zelenka, Missa Charitatis ZWV 10 from 1727 and Litaniae Xaverianae ZWV 154 from 1723, unknown to listeners: the first of the compositions will be performed here in its world concert premiere.
The concert opening the 9th year of the international Zelenka Festival Prague – Dresden will also be an important event for lovers of baroque music.: the concert will take place on October 12 from 7:30 p.m. in the Church of Our Lady under the chain in Malá Strana. The program will include the first of Zelenka’s four cycles of solemn vespers Psalmi Vespertini I., virtuoso compositions about man and God’s presence touching the listener’s heart. In addition to Ensemble Inégal, the excellent Dresden vocal ensemble Dresdner Kammerchor will also perform here
