Miroslav Klose sounds the alarm and questions the quality of his squad
Only four points from the first six games – things are not really going well for Miroslav Klose as a coach in Austria. The former international warns and questions the quality of the team.
“The pressure is there from the start, but as a professional you have to be able to deal with pressure,” said Klose heaven after the 1:4 defeat with Altach against LASK. Klose was also ruthlessly honest when he said the following about the quality of the squad: “We can only go so far with these players. At the same time, I spoke clearly. That’s why I hope that we can now sit down and talk about different things speak.”
Altach is eighth in Austria with only four points from six games, last year the team from Vorarlberg only just saved themselves. Klose has been responsible for Schnabelholz since the summer.
The biggest problem area is the defensive, so Altach have already conceded 16 goals. Klose: “The bottom line is that we don’t have enough points for the chances we have up front, because things just keep rattling at the back!”
For Klose it is the first station as head coach. Previously, Klose was an assistant coach under Jogi Löw for two years before taking over the Bayern U17s and then taking over as an assistant for the U19s for a year.
