From Toulouse to Souillac via Foix or Lectoure, treat yourself to a catch-up session of the major exhibitions that marked the summer of 2022.
1Legendary swords are in Foix
There are still 2 months left to discover the exhibition at the Château de Foix: “Legendary Swords: From Excalibur to Lightsaber“.
Covering 200 m², the event retraces the history of cinema swords. From Star Wars to Harry Potter via the Lord of the Rings, Conan the Barbarian or Highlander.

2The (unmissable) exhibition on Van Gogh in Toulouse
Installed since July 6, 2022 at the EDF Bazacle space in Toulouse, the immersive exhibition dedicated to Van Gogh is full.
The event enchants more than 100 visitors a day, immersing them for 1 hour in the heart of the painter’s works. An unusual experience to live via 1400 m² screens and virtual reality headsets.
On view until the end of January 2023.
3Lectoure’s photographic summer
It is one of the biggest photo festivals in the Occitanie region.
Opened on July 16 in Lectoure in the Gers, it ends September 18.
This year, the 34th edition is dedicated to artists who question the construction of worlds. Dubbed “Blazing the future”, the idea is to talk about today’s reality after 2 years of global pandemic and a war in Ukraine.
4When Degas meets Toulouse-Lautrec in Albi
This exceptional exhibition brings together two major artists of French art from the end of the 19th century. The idea was born from Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s admiration for Edgar Degas.
The Toulouse-Lautrec museum in Albi wanted to devote a common space to them.
On view until September 4.
5(Re)discover Josephine Baker in Souillac
The exhibition “Josephine Baker, an extraordinary destiny” remains open until September 10 in Souillac, in the Lot.
The place is dedicated to the exceptional life of the first African-American woman to enter the Pantheon. Find a variety of documents, drawings, haute couture creations, photographs… illustrating the creativity of Joséphine Baker, her influence on the 21st century and her fights for the equality of peoples.
