European League. Zurich starts group stage against Arsenal – but has to play in St. Gallen.
FC Zurich begins the group stage of the Europa League with a home game against Arsenal London. However, the game has to be played in St. Gallen because of the “Weltklasse Zürich” athletics event.
The match schedule for the group stage of the Europa League has been published. FC Zurich has the most attractive opponent right at the beginning. FCZ meets Arsenal London on Thursday, September 8 at 6:45 p.m. However, the game will take place in St. Gallen, as the “World Class Zurich” athletics meeting is scheduled for Letzigrund.
In addition to the fact that it is no longer a real home game, the transfer also has economic consequences: In St. Gallen, FC Zurich can sell around 5,000 fewer tickets than they could in Letzigrund.
FC Zürich’s second home game is on October 6th against PSV Eindhoven, with the final group game at home on October 27th against Bodö/Glimt.
