The Prague 12 district has announced a subsidy program for the year 2023 in the area of the environment. It will accept applications for subsidies between October 1 and November 30 of this year.
As stated by the town hall of the district on its own website, the subsidy program was approved by the City Council of Prague 12 at its meeting on August 23 of this year. It is intended for the causes of climate change and citizens for the implementation of their proposals intended to prevent the causes of climate change and to mitigate its negative effects.
Deputy mayor Eva Tylová (Pirates with the support of the Greens) states that the consequences of climate change can be seen at every step. “In recent years, we have encountered them in the form of more frequent and stronger extreme phenomena. This year, too, the long-lasting heat and drought was replaced by torrential rain, which in the peripheral parts of Prague 12, in Komořany and on Točná, flooded the streets with mud,” says the deputy mayor when evaluating the events of the last few days.
Measures to prevent similar phenomena can be taken by the city district without restrictions on its land. In order for private effective actions with a similar intention on owned land, the approved subsidy program is intended to serve this purpose.
Citizens of Prague 12 can also request support for the activities of rescue stations for wild animals and shelters for living protected or captured animals.
At the same time, Prague 12 wants to continue awarding subsidies related to educational programs and projects of Environmental Education, Education and Awareness (EVVO) as well as projects focused on reducing the amount of waste, which most often takes the form of placing composters and waste sorting containers.
Subsidy applications can also be submitted by all citizens who would like to improve their surroundings.
