Hannover Indians start preparing on the ice
Training start at the ice hockey league from the horse tower under difficult conditions. Coach Lenny Soccio only has 45 minutes of practice. The Indians will soon be going to the training camp in Garmisch.
Hanover. When ice hockey players start preparing for the season, it is usually midsummer. So far, so well known. The same applies to the fact that the players drive to the gang during the break in training and grab a drink in the face of a sweaty affair. But the runner cracks of the Hanover Indians, who have been preparing for the new season in the Oberliga since Friday morning and were complete with 22 players except for Robin Thalmeier, who was still unable to attend, paid no attention to the drink bottles at all – but grabbed the numerous paper rolls also referred to as kitchen rolls in the classic household. The reason: Due to the oppressively high humidity, heavy fog moved through the ice rink at the horse tower. The players are constantly wiping their visors.
“It’s crazy, I’ve never cleaned my visor so often,” said Sofiene Bräuner while wiping the inside of the Plexiglas of his head protection. Shortly thereafter, Maxi Pohl also drove to the gang, tore a piece of paper off the roll and got a clear view again. “I’m already annoyed, wanted to try the visor.” The defender usually wears a mesh helmet because of a facial injury that has occurred in the past, which is the usual visor for eye protection – but somewhat restricts the field of vision. However, there was a limited field of vision with the visor for other reasons.
