A test for you: Prison Island in Lyon
OL Vallée leisure centre, 2 avenue Simone Veil, 69150 Décines. Parking is free. The T7 tram takes you there.
For some time now, the city of Décines has offered many activities at OL Vallée. On a Prison Island tested, we tell you.
Prison Island is a game to play with members of your family or your friends. The goal is to score as many points as possible in the time allowed. Wondering how to get points? Quite simply, by achieving challenges similar to those of Fort Boyard!
30 challenges to complete
Prison Island is a prison setting, as its name suggests, with 30 cells available. Each cell contains a challenge to complete. In front of each door is a card with the name of the event, the minimum number of people to complete the challenge, a clue on what to do, as well as the level of difficulty.
The tests vary. Some are physical: you have to know how to hold on so as not to touch the ground. Others are strategic: a brain or a simon. Still others are technical: manage to go to different buttons and press them simultaneously. You must therefore be well coordinated with your colleagues!
To win, it will be necessary to use voice, force and strategy. Each challenge must be completed within an allotted time. If the exercise is too difficult, you can go out to explore another room and come back to try again later. On the other hand, once you have reached the maximum number of points offered by a challenge, it is not important to do it again. You don’t increase your points, you already have them all!
Teams of 3
This converted prison can house up to 120 people. You can come and try the experience with several people but you will not share it with everyone together. Teams must be made up of 3 to 4 people. We advise you to be three maximum so as not to generalize in the tests. During the adventure, you will come across other participants leaving or entering a room and you will hear them shouting to win. To find out your ranking and the number of points required, screens are available in the corridors.
Each cell can only be occupied by one group. To know if the room is free, a light is in front of each room. If it is red, then it is occupied by a group already inside. If it is blue, the room is under maintenance, you cannot go there. If the light is green, it means the room is free.
30% of the cells offered have suitable and secure access for people with reduced mobility. Children from 8 to 12 years old must be accompanied. Be careful, many games are to be made with colors. People with color blindness may struggle. Dress casually, with baskets.
This prison is like a real maze. Difficulties in finding the doors of the uncompleted challenges can waste your time for this unique experience. So, don’t think, go for it, otherwise you won’t have the opportunity to explore all the rooms… At the end of the experience, you will leave with a sheet on which will be recorded the challenges completed as well as the number of points achieved.
For 1 hour of adventure, the price is 19€. You will have to pay 25€ for a game time of 1h30. It is also possible to take a 2h formula for 30€.
