“The victim noticed this and, while trying to protect the vehicle from the thief’s run, jumped on the hood where the crew was waiting. However, this did not deter them from driving away, and the victim fell several meters on the hood, when by zigzagging between the vehicles, the victim was thrown from the hood of an oncoming vehicle, which was fortunately enough to stop it,” explained police spokeswoman Violeta Siřišťová.
The thieves fled the scene and the injured senior was taken over by rescuers. Criminal investigators subsequently discovered that these were probably foreigners who the seniors had apparently picked up at the markets and were following him.
According to the police, the suspects were in Prague from Thursday, August 18 to Saturday, August 20, and it is possible that they lived in a hotel or boarding house.
“That’s why we ask the receptionists and other witnesses, if they have seen the man or the white Toyota Avensis vehicle, MPZ KA 5467 BE, to contact the emergency line 158. We are also asking the service station operators,” stated Siřišťová.
