“With trains 512 and 515 in the Prague – Františkovy Lázně section, we observe tremendous interest in traveling on weekends. The capacity of the Pendolino is no longer enough here, and since it is a complete unit, it is not possible to add more cars. Therefore, on Saturday and Sunday, we will deploy a classic set of nine modern air-conditioned cars on the entire route on both routes. We will thus increase the capacity of the train by more than 160 additional seats,” Petr Vondráček, director of the ČD passenger transport business department, explains the change in the order of trains.
And the same applies to trains heading to the west of the Czech Republic from Bohumín for trains SC / IC Pendolino 512 / 515. For connections SC Pendolino 509 / 500 Prague – Ostrava – Prague, there is a replacement due to one missing Pendolino unit.
On SC / IC Pendolino 512 / 515 trains, Pendolino units will be deployed as before from Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, both trains will run on the entire route Bohumín – Františkovy Lázně and back as InterCity connections, and on the section Bohumín – Prague and back they will have a mandatory reservation. A classic set with 1st and 2nd class cars, a restaurant car, a car with seats for wheelchair passengers will be deployed along the entire route as other usual services in InterCity trains.
Murder of a homeless man in Ostrava: the police arrested three suspects
This adjustment involves a change in the order of weekend trains IC 502 Opavan Opava východ (15:52) – Prague hl.n. (19:32), which runs on Sundays, IC 508 Ostravan Bohumín (10:59) – Prague hl. n. (14:32), which runs on Saturdays, and IC 519 Ostravan Prague hl.n. (23:40) – Bohumín (3:08), which runs at night from Saturday to Sunday and from Sunday to Monday. These trains will run in the SuperCity category and will be equipped with a Pendolino unit.
Another change will take place from Monday, September 5 for SC Pendolino trains 509 / 500 Praha hl.n. (13:25) – Ostrava hl.n. (16:49 / 17:07) – Prague capital (20:32). The most modern set of Czech Railways InterJet will be deployed daily on this pair of trains. The train will run in the InterCity category and will continue to be a mandatory passenger service.
Ostrava ordered more trolleybuses with Turkish bodywork from Škoda
InterJet units are the most modern units in Central Europe. Wi-Fi, the possibility of recharging travel electronics, wireless mobile phone chargers are available in 1st class, and the train windows are made with special technologies that allow a better passage of mobile signals. Refreshments on board the train will be provided in the form of a minibar. This change is prompted by a smaller number of operating Pendolinos after the June accident.
From the first weekend of September, the Friday and some Sunday connections of the Berounka line R 16 Prague – Plzeň – Klatovy / Železná Ruda will also be reinforced with an additional 2nd class car. On Friday afternoon, Czech Railways will offer an additional 320 seats in the direction from Prague to Pilsen and Klatov.
All of the train queues will be valid until the end of this year’s timetable, i.e. until December 10, 2022.
