Robots, crafts, crafting as a business. New-age do-it-yourselfers will dominate the Prague market
17/09/2022 – 18/09/2022
The Maker Faire Prague festival takes place on the weekend of September 17 and 18. Makers – i.e. tinkerers, do-it-yourselfers, innovators, craftsmen and other creative people will welcome visitors to the Prague Maker Faire in the premises of the Prague Market. Several halls will be available to them, as well as spaces and alleys between them. The fifth year of the event will host almost 150 makers from the Czech Republic and around the world.
The weekend of September 17 and 18 promises a lot of workshops, practical demonstrations and presentation projects and prototypes in the fields of 3D printing, electronics, crafts, robotics, sustainability and design.
Kit houses, a flying motorcycle model and a pancake printer
Maker Faire festivals are known for their variety and diversity, and the program of this Prague festival only confirms this. Both young and old visitors will enjoy themselves, because on the spot they will be able to try out an underwater drone, make a parachute for their LEGO® figure, or view a model of a VTOL-type flying motorcycle being developed.
Foodies can enjoy pancakes printed on a 3D printer, and those interested in the houses of the future get to know the possibilities of modular buildings using a giant kit.
The maker movement also encourages sharing, learning and creating within creative communities. Open workshops from a number of places in the Czech Republic, hobby associations and clubs (not only children’s) and other educational projects have their place at Maker Faire Prague together with their creations.
During the festival, a number of thematic workshops are also held, where visitors will be able to try out the production of specific items under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
children and adults can build a robot that throws balls for accuracy, make a wallet from a cassette or a design magnet.
