Prague may have its first female trans politician: Hejduková, head of Mladé pirátstva, is also running for election!
Thanks to Hejduková, the young pirates are among the most active youth organizations. The most heard about them was when they changed their name to Mladé piratstvo, to be gender neutral.
“Our vote yesterday on renaming the youth organization caused quite a bit of controversy. Of course, some people immediately found out who is in this initiative, and my two-year-old photos and memes of hanged trans people with my original name are already appearing on the Internet. If you want to know why young people don’t go into politics, here’s the answer.” wrote Georgia at the time on social networks.
Now she can become the first ever transgender politician in the Czech Republic. He is running for municipal elections in Prague 6.
Although Georgia is only in ninth place among the candidates, she is a well-known face especially among the LGBT community, so she will aim for preferential votes.

Hejduková has been going through a transition since 2017, and she once again wrote about the transformation on Facebook. She also spoke openly about the bullying she experienced as a boy at school.
“I’ve always known that I’m not normal, because since school I’ve heard it every day from my classmates, they kept saying that I’m disgusting, weird, ugly. Later they started throwing chairs at me, throwing me down the stairs, filming me on my phone and putting it on social media against my will. I often asked myself: Why me? Why can’t I be normal? to state for example.
