Lyon: a record month of July for the Musée des Confluences
The end of health restrictions and the return of foreign tourists are a delight for tourism professionals in Lyon. The Musée des Confluences is no exception, with very good attendance this summer.
“We discover another culture”
“We can already explain it by the quality of our exhibitions, which find their audience“, smiles Pierre-Henry Alquier, director of cultural development. “With the holidays, we have seen the return of foreign tourists, which is beneficial for cultural institutions and us in particular.“
The exhibition “On the trail of the Sioux“, visible until August 28, met with great success. “We will probably be between 380,000 and 400,000 visitors over the exhibition period“, notes Pierre-Henry Alquier. “It’s a fairly spectacular and very family-friendly exhibition with both these Amerindian costumes, but also the way in which the image of the Indian has been built, especially on clichés.“
“It’s very beautiful, I’m amazed to see all that has been distributed“, comments Sandra who came with the family.”We thought it would be a little quieter in August to go to the museum… And it’s true that it’s cooler too!” A freshness that is also essential for the good conservation of the objects on display… “We discover another culture, it’s great“, adds Timéo, 13 years old.
To note that the Confluence museum also offers mediation for the youngest throughout the summer.
