The insulting words directed at the politician Sikandar Siddique and his parents when Parliament opened last year were not punishable, Copenhagen ruled on Monday.
A 45-year-old man who has a background from the anti-immigration party Stram Kurs, where defendant in the case. The prosecution believed that the 45-year-old should be sentenced for harassment by a person in public service, writes NTB.

The acquittal emphasized freedom of expression
The indictment stated that a member of the Danish Parliament was subjected to violations under aggravating circumstances because the exhortation referred to Siddique’s ethnic origin and his faith. The acquittal, however, emphasized freedom of expression, which is protected by the European Convention on Human Rights. The court concludes that the shouting was not punishable.
