Mototourists paid tribute to all the most important topics for Lithuania in one day
“Being sponsors of this intellectual rally, we are happy to observe the growth of culture and the joy of learning with all of us. The 12th time the event would seem to be already known to all of us, but with the telling of the story, every time is like a new one. We – Ryterna module, we believe that knowledge is especially important these days. This is an extremely important goal for which we must not only travel, orient ourselves, plan and even compete,” says Andrius Orlovas, representative of the rally’s main sponsor.
Special nominations for knowledge of history
The traditional cultural intellectual rally of motorcyclists starts with topical topics of 2022.
The motorcyclists celebrated one day: the year of the Basketball Centenary, the Catholic Chronicle of the Lithuanian Church, the year of Romo Kalanta, Monsignor Kazimier Vasiliauskas, Karaim, Year of Animal Welfare.
“We want to sincerely congratulate and grow the enthusiasm of the participants of the cultural rally “Ryterna modul Mototourism Rally 2022 Lithuania” while traveling and visiting important memorable and historical places of this year, touching the signs of cultural heritage that revive the nation’s memory.
This year has been declared the year of the Lithuanian Catholic Church Chronicle, the Lithuanian Karaites, the printer Pranciškaus Skorina and the dissident Rom Kalanta. We hope that on your way you will get acquainted with the objects of cultural heritage, tell about the lives of these personalities, phenomena, and the national minority important to Lithuania, and you will return spiritually enriched, broadened your horizons and eager to learn more. It is important not only to overcome them in kilometers, but also to experience them. Cultural heritage provides an opportunity to live and travel in an interesting way,” says Vidmantas Bezaras, director of the Department of Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture.
For several years, the Lithuanian National Library of Martynas Mažvydas has been co-creating the event. Congratulating and supporting the mission of responsible travel, the National Library has established three nominations this year for those event participants who will visit the most objects on the route of the rally recommended by the experts of the National Library.
“Cultural diversity is a real journey and a driving force for learning about the world. this statement is best proven by the 12-year-old tradition of the intellectual mototourist rally. When traveling, we not only experience new experiences, discover places, expand our horizons, but I can also get to know the diversity of the history and culture of my country. Lithuania is amazing and very different. I hope that the new discoveries will encourage the desire to travel even more and get to know each other”, says LNB General Director Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas.
As many as 20 municipalities delegated the honorable mission
More than 20 municipalities officially delegated and escorted the rally participants to this meaningful journey. Riders from Alytus, Druskininkai, Jurbarkas, Kaišiadorių, Kaunas, Klaipėda district, Kretinga, Mažeikiai, Pakruoj, Panevėžys, Rietava, Rokiškis, Skuoda, Tauragė, Ukmergė, Utena, and Vilnius will represent their cities. Their intellectual ten-hour journey will be crowned with a ceremonial finish at Kaunas Town Hall Square.
The Kaunas City Municipality gave the finish line to the participants. Also, the event is partially financed by the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania.
