FC Zurich wins against Cham and is one round ahead
Cham shows respect for the super league team too late
FCZ survives the first round of the cup without a shine
FC Zurich wins against Cham and is in the next cup round. But the champions don’t really like to convince against the Promotion League club.
1/5
FC Zurich wins in Cham.
Cham – Zurich 0: 4
FC Zurich didn’t exude glamor in its first appearance in the cup. possibly the city club A Büezerattitude on the day, which is certainly the right thing in his current championship position. And lands a 4-0 win at Promotion League club Cham. Also thanks to a penalty gift from Ref Turkes. And despite a poor performance by superstar Wilfried Gnonto.
Because the Italian national player managed to score a foul penalty in front of the new stadium record crowd in the Eizmoos of 3,500 fans. And when he was able to move towards the Zug keeper Anthony von Arx all by himself, he tipped the ball past the goal. Miserably.
But none of that mattered. Because the FCZ, with their 1200 fabulous fans behind them, took the lead after just 15 minutes thanks to a random goal from Tosin. And because the same player doubled shortly before the break when he confidently sunk the second foul penalty within six minutes. However, this blemish is followed by the wrong decision. The TV pictures clearly show that Chams Loosli scoops the ball away before Seiler falls over his outstretched leg.
The team of GC veteran Roland Schwegler is non-existent in the first half. The people of Zug don’t show their respect until it’s too late. However: If they had only used their two monumental chances in the second half of the game – Solimando’s header on the crossbar (60th) and Fäh, who shoots over the goal from five meters (74th) – it would have been extremely exciting. Because after the break, the guest didn’t even do the minimum. And the last two goals only came in the final minutes. (aku)
