The construction of the Moldova-Romania border bridge at Ungheni begins ~ InfoPrut
Representatives of the public institutions on both banks of the Prut, involved in the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania regarding the construction of the bridge between the towns of Ungheni (R. Moldova) – Ungheni (Romania), had a joint working session.
During the discussions, the procedure for establishing a mixed commission was initiated, consisting of specialists from the public authorities from the Republic of Moldova, as well as from specialists assigned to the responsible institutions in Romania, who will deal with the implementation of the Agreement, which provides for the design and construction of the bridge. road, the related road, as well as the construction and opening of the state border crossing point, connected to the bridge.
“The construction and establishment of a new crossing point will allow speeding up and facilitating the crossing of the border for people and means of transport, streamlining cross-border traffic and reducing the waiting time of the other parts of the state border crossing, which are currently more in demand”stated the MAI, according to a press release.
Also, a new point at the border will contribute to increasing the processing capacities of the means of transport transiting the Republic of Moldova, developing the network of trade routes for cross-border traffic, increasing the fluidity and safety of road traffic, as well as increasing the level of security both at the national level, as well as regional.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Service, the National Food Safety Agency and the Intelligence and Security Service.
