The new multi-functional playground was created instead of an unsightly asphalted area at Seidlova and Zárubova streets in Prague 12.
The pitch was, as follows from the information on website Prague 12, completed and officially opened in mid-August. This was preceded by a participatory meeting with citizens two years ago, where they could express their opinion regarding the change of space.
“A beautiful playground was created that fulfills my idea of what the city part should contain for its citizens. I will do my best to ensure that similar playgrounds grow in other parts of Prague 12,” said Vojtěch Kos (ODS), 1st Deputy Mayor of the Prague 12 district.
The total revitalization and construction cost 3.2 million crowns, which was invested in the playground by the company Lhotka Living, which is currently also building an apartment building in Lhotka.
The main feature is wooden houses on stilts
Playgrounds are dominated by wooden houses on stilts, with climbing nets, slides and swings. There are also bouncy balls, so-called “hops” for children, and a table tennis table will soon appear. Parents were also thought of, and new benches and trash cans were added as part of the renovation.
“Building a children’s playground is an example of an investment from the contribution of developers who participate in such projects in Prague 12 based on an agreement with the city district. The funds are invested in civic amenities. This is a children’s playground, and further improvements are planned to the green areas in the inner block of apartment buildings in Ve Lhotce Street,” added Deputy Mayor Eva Tylová (Pirates).
There is also a field for ball games
The area also includes a multifunctional playground measuring 14 x 19 meters. Children can play ball games there, for example. The surface is composed of a lower elastic layer made of chopped technical rubber mixed with a special polyurethane binder and a durable upper layer made of fully colored synthetic rubber.
The town hall believes that the playground will reliably serve all young residents of Prague 12 and their parents. At the same time, he wants to establish similar multifunctional areas in other places in the district.
