Adam Zábranský (Pirates): He takes the money, but he doesn’t go there

POLITICS IN THEIR OWN WORDS Alderman m of Prague for housing and transparency for the Pirates on his Facebook on August 19 to the statement of the leader of the SPOLU coalition Bohuslav Svoboda in interviews for Deník N and Hospodářské noviny
This is what a person who wants to be mayor says!
I offer you a summary of what we learned from the leader of the ODS and the SPOLU coalition in Prague, Bohuslav Svoboda, in recent interviews on Deník N and in Hospodářské noviny:
- He is a member of committees in the council, for which he takes money, but does not go to them, because he does not consider it a priority
- If he becomes mayor, he will retain his position as an MP; it doesn’t matter that it can’t be prosecuted, the main thing is that he will be able to speak at the counter from time to time
- There is no need to deal with the climate so much, we can make retention tanks and plant trees and that is probably enough
- Questions about the historical steps of the ODS are under the belt
- Until the circuit is completed, nothing can be done about the traffic situation in the center of Prague
- All modes of transport are equal in principle, so I will not create infrastructure for bicycles and ban people from cycling in certain sections, for example on blocks, because they could fall off
- Exhalations from automobile traffic do not need to be addressed, eruptions in the sun cause a far greater burden
- We need to build more apartments and densify the city, but the seven-story urban apartment building in Prague 5 is a tower block that does not belong there and should be built elsewhere
I have a few notes on this:
- Traffic in the center of Prague will not be solved by the ring road. Most of the car traffic in the center is not generated by people who want to go from one region of Prague to. Saying that the center of Prague will be calmed down only after the ring road is completed is nothing more than an alibis: an excuse for people who do not offer a solution.
- Reducing emissions cannot be postponed indefinitely. Our coalition came up with a climate commitment, it is preparing projects for installing solar panels on roofs, electrifying mass transport, expanding the network of tram lines, preparing a project for heating from waste water, etc…
- If we create suitable conditions for cycling, more and more people will use bicycle transport, which is beneficial for everyone. 10 years ago, Bohuslav Svoboda strongly supported the development of bicycle transport and the closure of the embankment for cars, I don’t know what happened to him.
- The part of the conversation with car emissions is probably the most bizarre. For God’s sake, how can anyone claim that car emissions are not harmful and do not need to be addressed? After all, transport is responsible for most of the air pollution, which kills 500 Praguers every year!
- Saying that more apartments must be built in Prague (I agree) and that Prague should be densified (I agree), and at the same time fighting against the construction of a normal apartment building (7 floors) in Prague 5 in a place that is obviously intended for its construction, simply does not work meaning. And calling it a “tower”…
