Basketball legends with a small offensive contribution
When evaluating the size of the basketball players the first thing that catches the eye are the points scored, in how many minutes and with what percentages. The biggest and most paid stars of the various teams are currently those players who are the team’s first offensive option. Then in some cases of very talented teams even the second and possibly the third option of a team can be offensively more quoted than the first of a weaker team. The concept, however, is clear; a great striker enjoys more credit to a great defender and also gets paid more. And if a player excels in both aspects, the coach generally asks him to save himself a little in defense and give his all in attack; it is the case of Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard in basketball today. However, there are cases like Klay Thompson of the Warriors who are called upon to dare more in defense than in attack, but only because Stephen Curry is on the team, or a few years ago even Kevin Durant who offensively come – and come – before him. . In the history of basketball there has been only one case of a leading and highest paid player of a titled team who gave a poor contribution in attack and an immense contribution in defense and rebound: Bill Russell. The NBA has retired all number six jerseys of all the teams in his honor. In last year’s list of the seventy-six best players in NBA history, he is present Dennis Rodmanwho contributed very little in attack, while our immense one for European basketball Dino Meneghin.
