Urban rodeos in Toulouse: ten arrests this weekend
Roaring engines, excessive speeds and screeching tires… Urban rodeo is rampant in France, particularly in summer, to the detriment of road users and local residents. Indeed, urban rodeos and Course wild are illegal races on public roads.
Several areas serving as a circuit for urban rodeo in toulouse were issued, in particular thanks to reports from local residents, specifies a police source to The Independent Opinion. From then on, police operations took place every weekend to track down the participants of these illegal and particularly dangerous races. During these missions, new techniques are put in place to arrest and confiscate vehicles. Among them, video protection or the presence of agents in direct surveillance on defined sectors.

Arrests and confiscation of vehicles
On the night of Friday August 12 to Saturday August 13, a police operation anti-urban rodeo was conducted in Toulouse. At the end of this intervention, six people were arrested and their vehicles were all confiscated.
The next day, reports from residents led the police to arrest two other individuals. The finding of violation also resulted in the confiscation of the automobiles. Of these eight confiscated cars, two were returned because they did not belong to the rodeo participants. The latter, however, received a fine of 1,500 euros, a license suspension and a six-month suspended prison sentence.
The six drivers arrested during the operation on Friday August 12 were presented to the judge. They have all admitted their guilt and will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.
Two arrests near La Ramée
Sunday August 14, around 6 p.m., a new police operation against urban rodeos was carried out in Tournefeuille, near Lac de la Ramée. Two young men, ages 26 and 29, were spotted riding motocross indulging in urban rodeo, including driving down the pedestrian lane. The physical integrity of passers-by was then put in danger. The two individuals were arrested and taken into custody. Both of their dirt bikes were impounded.
In the process, the two men admitted the facts and were presented to the prosecution on Monday August 15. Both vehicles were permanently seized. Drivers will be summoned to the designated court following the prior recognition of their credit.
