Booking app for private bathing spots – salzburg.ORF.at

Bathing on a private lake property is now made possible by a computer program developed by a student at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Seegrund owners can use this platform to rent out their bathing spots by the day.
Beach baths are often overcrowded on hot days, but private beaches are often unused. Public lake properties are of course rare in Austria. 80 percent of the beaches are privately owned, and the few lidos are often hopelessly overcrowded in picture-book summers like this year.
Julian Horngacher studied at the technical college in Puch-Urstein (Tennengau) and has now found a solution to this problem. He has developed an internet platform on which bathing place owners can rent out their private beaches by the day.
Offer is to be extended to all of Austria
This platform, which has been online for seven weeks, is called “Platz am See”. Since then, private bathing spots have been booked 70 times, mainly at Salzburg and Upper Austrian lakes – for example at Mattsee, Wallersee, Irrsee, Mondsee and Attersee.
The offer is now to be extended to the whole of Austria. FH student Julian Horngacher is also planning additional offers such as sporting goods rental and the provision of packed lunches. The 23-year-old young entrepreneur founded a company especially for this purpose and is supported by the University of Applied Sciences and the Startup Salzburg initiative – More about the offer.
