Great success for the Couleurs de Bretagne competition in Quintin – Quintin
In Quintin, the scorching weather on Saturday August 13 did not slow down participation in the “Colors of Brittany” competition, received for the 29th time in the city. For the organizers, hard at work from 8 a.m. to ensure the welcome of the painters, it is a satisfaction. Jean-Pierre Védrine, president of the association Couleurs de Bretagne, confirms. “The average participation in this time after Covid is 45 painters, so 56 in Quintin, it’s a great performance”. Satisfaction also came from the presence of young people, eleven in total. “It’s the future of the competition,” says the president.
Exhibition at the Cap’Art gallery
As for the quality of the works, according to the jury composed of Claude Morin, Michel Arouche, Cécile Guesse, Anne-Yvonne David and Marie-Paule Le Ray, the level is rising from year to year. And for the first time, among the painters from the four parts of France, two Quintinais were awarded prizes. To find the works of the winners, go to the Cap’Art de Quintin gallery, at 37, Grand’rue, where they will be exhibited until the end of September before competing for the regional final in Pont-Croix (29).
