Saturday August 13, France experienced a new peak in temperatures. In Paris, parks were open late Friday evening, so residents could cool off.
Waiting for dusk to go outside is one of the strategies favored by the French in the event of strong heat. Friday August 12 in the evening, many Toulousains (Upper Garonne) decided to go out to take advantage of the freshness of the Garonne. “It’s the first outing of the day. We always wait very late in the evening to go out because it is not possible before. It’s way too hot”testifies to a mother.
Everyone has their own way of escaping the heat. A family decided to go up to a big Wheel. As in Toulouse last night, a major part of France was suffering from the heat. It was 33°C in Perpignan (Eastern Pyrenees)27°C in Bourges (dear) or 29°C in Paris. In the capital, parks have exceptionally closed at midnight to allow some to get some fresh air. 16 departments are still on heatwave alert.
