Last weekend of summer festival ‘In The Streets’ | Brussels
BrusselsThe summer festival of the City of Brussels is approaching its last weekend. After four weeks of urban sports, concerts and a whole series of other activities, the event concludes with, among other things, the BK Beach Volleyball and a roller skating workshop.
Delphine Houba (PS), Brussels alderman for Culture, is already satisfied with the course of the summer programming. “In the Streets emerged with a program of sporting, cultural and artistic events highlighting the most imaginative neighborhoods in Brussels. With this new project, we have renewed our tourist offer and ensured that the inhabitants could again appropriate their city center.”
Friday from 5.30 pm there will be another roller skate workshop led by Bomba Hache, one of the best female skaters in Europe. The day will be expanded with a few DJ sets on the Poelaertplein. On Saturday, initiations BMX and scooter, and concerts from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the De Brouckèreplein are still on the menu. And also on Sunday, the inhabitants of Brussels can take an initiation lesson BMX.
The Belgian Beach Volleyball Championship will also take place on the Debouckèreplein from Thursday to Sunday. The final will be played on Sunday at Muntplein. During the weekend, you can also make use of the climbing wall and track and slackline installations on Place Poelaert, and catch some fifty free performances along various staircases in the city center. Finally, a lot of peripheral animation is also provided.
