Toulouse FM radio in the process of being acquired by the Rossel La Voix group
The Rossel La Voix group is in the final phase of negotiations for the acquisition of the independent radio station Toulouse FM. “La Voix du Nord” and “Nord Eclair” already belong to the European press group.
New takeover. Created in 2008 by the media group Mediameeting, the station had become the leading local radio station in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne with a cumulative audience of 5.4%, thus reaching a record : +26% in the Toulouse conurbation according to the latest report from Mediametry.
After 14 years of independence, Toulouse FM Should therefore be taken over by the Franco-Belgian group Rossel.
For us, this is very good news. We were aware that for Toulouse FM, already the local leading radio station, to be able to break the glass ceiling and gain even more momentum, it had to have additional means, while keeping its fundamentals.
Sylvain Athiel, director of the broadcast division of Mediameeting
The current team thus remained maintained… The same for the location of the studios, installed in the Pink City. “The format aims to stay on the same line: young, dynamic and close”, explains Sylvain Athiel. This in order to “not to reproduce the unfortunate story and the badly healed scars linked to the takeover of Sud radio.”
The “Rossel Voice Group” — formerly “Voice of the North Investment” — already owns a few media including “La Voix du Nord”, “Nord Eclair”, “Contact FM”, “RDL” in the region but also “Direct FM” and “Champagne FM” in the region of Metz and Nancy. At the national level, it owns “Le Soir” and “RTL Belgique”.
The buyers are people we know well since we have known them for a long time. Today, a radio or a newspaper alone is no longer so legitimate; new services, means and operating methods are needed to allow it to take the turn that our profession is experiencing in the best conditions.
Sylvain Athiel, director of the broadcast division of Mediameeting
Well underway, the sale should probably be finalized by the end of the year, subject to validation by Arcom (ex-CSA), which controls the maintenance of the balance of the programs.
