AS Monaco: Bailly, Soumaré, Sarr… the latest news
While AS Monaco will face PSV Eindhoven this Tuesday (8:30 p.m.) in the third preliminary round of the Champions League, the Monegasques are also active on the transfer market. Malang Sarr is approaching, but ASM is also on the trail of Eric Bailly and is still hoping for recruiter Boubakary Soumaré.
AS Monaco is accelerating on the transfer market. The Monegasques travel to the Netherlands to face PSV Eindhoven this Tuesday (8:30 p.m.), during the return phase of the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League. At the same time, the leaders of the Principality’s club worked to strengthen Philippe Clément’s squad. According to information from AthleticismMalang Sarr should be the next recruit of the Asemists.
The 23-year-old defender will land on a one-season paying loan (€750,000), accompanied by a purchase obligation, the amount of which has been set at €15 million, which can be activated depending on the number of matches played. If he were to commit definitively to Monaco, he would then have a contract for five seasons. According to The Teamthis finish should not compromise the track leading to Eric Bailly.

Bailly to replace Badiashile, Soumaré expected
Indeed, the 28-year-old Ivorian international, under contract until 2024, would be AS Monaco’s priority. Only problem, the club of the Principality would keep bringing him on loan, while Manchester United absolutely wants a permanent transfer. As a reminder, the Red Devils recruited him for €38m in 2016 from Villarreal. His arrival would compensate for the possible departure of Benoît Badiashile, announced in recent days in the sights of Seville in particular.
At the same time, ASM still hopes to secure the services of Boubakary Soumaré. Under contract until 2026 with Leicester, the 23-year-old midfielder is Philippe Clément’s priority. The Foxes would be willing to part with it for 20 million euros. It remains to be seen whether the Monegasques will be ready to spend this sum. Other avenues are also being studied, including André Zambo-Anguissa, today in Naples.
