AS Monaco is committed to biodiversity with “Les Ruches Rouges & Blanches”
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy, the Rocher club is launching the “Les Ruches Rouges & Blanches” program. Every ten goals scored in Ligue 1, a hive of bees will emerge in the Principality.
With two buts already registered against RC Strasbourg, the Monegasques are only eight units away from financing a very first hive.
From this season, every time Philippe Clément’s men score ten league goals, AS Monaco will finance the creation of a hive that can accommodate nearly 40,000 bees in one of Terrae’s urban farms. , in the Larvotto district.
Last season, with more than sixty bees registered by Monegasques, six hives were installed in the Principality, i.e. around 200,000 bees which took up residence there and pollinated the local vegetation. Author of twenty-five goals, Wissam Ben Yedder alone would have financed almost half of these hives.
Preserving biodiversity and bees, essential for the planet
Part of the honey mentioned (6 to 8 kilos per hive) will be offered to opposing delegations within the framework of traditional formal exchanges in order to promote Red & White honey throughout Europe.
Essential to our biodiversity because of their action of pollinating plants, bees are increasingly threatened. Global warming, the intensification of pesticide use and the expansion of the Asian hornet have increased their mortality rate.
A major danger for the environment and humanity since according to the UN, 40% of what we eat and 80% of plant species on Earth depend directly on pollination.
By acting in favor of their preservation, AS Monaco, a major solidarity and eco-responsible actor on its territory, thus intends to work for biodiversity.
