Man arrested after theft – Liechtenstein
A person was arrested in Vaduz on Saturday evening on suspicion of theft. The state police announced this on Sunday morning.
On Saturday afternoon, an attentive passer-by reported that you had observed how an unknown man in the parking lot at the Rheinpark Stadion tried to open the several doors of mobile homes. The man drove away on a bicycle after the unsuccessful means. A search by the state police was initially successful.
Towards Saturday evening, a family went to the police station and reported the theft of a mobile phone from their vehicle, which had been parked “Am slanting way” in Vaduz. They also observed a man walking from car to car and pulling the door handles. The description fits the unknown man at the Rheinpark Stadium.
Arrested after a short escape
After several clues, a male person who matched the description was found in Vaduz. The man initially evaded control by fleeing, but was stopped by the police a short time later. The suspect was carrying the cell phone that had been reported stolen.
“The still unknown man was taken into police custody. The investigations into identity and other criminal offenses that may have started are in progress,” the state police concluded.
