Kasper Schmeichel and Alexis Beka Beka (Nice) were to start against Toulouse
Lucien Favre waited too long for them to wait. Even if they have only done a handful of training sessions with their new partners, the last four recruits from Nice are well on the way to Toulouse on Sunday (1 p.m.). In what form? During their presentation to the media on Friday, their coach went out of his way to ask to be patient with them.
Concerning Mattia Viti (20 years old) and Alexis Beka Beka (21 years old), the two youngest, the Swiss recalled that their place responded a lot to the concern to build on the medium term and that a period of learning would be necessary for them.
Viti will start on the bench, while Beka Beka is expected to start. In a sector where the club would welcome the departure of Mario Lemina and Morgan Schneiderlin, the player trained in Caen is in competition for this meeting with Alexis Claude-Maurice. Tenured during the last preparation matches, the latter presents a more attacking profile, but even if Beka Beka underlined that his preferential position remained number 6, Favre specified that he also sees it demonstrated in 8. And the former Muscovite does not ‘t arrive out of form: before rallying the Côte d’Azur, he had taken part in the first two days of the Russian Championship with Lokomotiv, on 17 and 24 July.
Schmeichel holder, Ramsey on the bench
The two older recruits, Aaron Ramsey (31) and Kasper Schmeichel (35), have also only arrived in recent days, knowing that the Welshman, although he has continued to train, has not played again of meeting since the international window of the beginning of June, with its selection. His place will therefore be on the bench. For Schmeichel, Favre did not want to reveal the name of his titular goalkeeper this Sunday. Marcin Bulka held the position during the preparation and the Dane only landed in Nice in the middle of the week. But it is the latter, who will be number 1 this season, who should start in Toulouse.
