Amnesty Netherlands about report on Ukrainian combat tactics
On Thursday, August 4, 2022, we distributed a press release published by Amnesty worldwide criticizing the combat tactics of the Ukrainian army. Following that press release, we’ve been through many articles over the past few days that voiced their beginnings about this post. Focusing on the name on the map of the investigation and on the question of whether we are not playing into Russian propaganda too much with this press release.
We regret to be implemented and begin to publish no war crimes by aggressor Russia legitimizes. In recent months we have had repeated investigations in which we are starting to launch war crimes by the Russian military. Our criticism of the Ukrainian military is also disproportionate to the massive war crimes committed by the Russian armed forces, including rape, torture, execution and the systematic combat of civilian targets.
We would also like to point out that our brave colleagues at Amnesty have been put in a very difficult position by this press release. Amnesty Netherlands has ended some of them last reception order. A number of them have indicated that they will leave us as a simple move. We have great respect for this brave and most important step. We wish them a lot of strength and all the best in the coming period and will do everything to support them.
