Lectoure: Nadine Calais exhibits at the Manufacture for a month
Nadine Calais is exhibiting until Friday September 9 in the corridor of time at the Manufacture coworking
The Coworking and Art Manufacture is hosting the works of Nadine Calais and Roger Thevenon, two artists from Gers at heart, until Friday 9 September. Nadine Calais was born in Normandy near the Cliffs of Étretat, it is in the world of color that she integrated her life to her and around her.
Self-taught, cradled by the subtle colors of the strength of the place of Étretat, she has been drawing and painting since the age of 5, driven by an emotion and a sensitivity that is always cultivated. Curious about life and metaphysics, she is interested in the feelings of men passing from shadow to light. She travels to Africa and studies the history of Egypt with its inexhaustible resources, then the architecture of the knights and deep nature both literally and figuratively. She says with force and conviction that nature is a mess in a perfect order. His research on light, geometry, color and matter allowed him to approach through painting, themes such as the resentment of women, ancient Egypt, symbolism and the search for the self.
“Complexes of geometric shapes”
The first denominator of her works is the dream she wishes to provoke, then curiosity through the symbolism that emanates from it and finally the intuitive imagination that brings us closer to the depths of ourselves while remaining in balance between deep creation and matter. From the eternal line of time, she hopes that through the breath of the dream, receptacle of the vibration of the inner being, we can navigate from the real to the unreal and blend into the whole. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, international fairs and Art Galleries as well as artistic performances with school students.
Michel Torrente of the former Condillac gallery in Bordeaux wrote about his Egypt series: “Only the sincere artist has the power to let his soul wander freely to travel the eternal line of time. Ancient Egypt cradles passionate visions by Nadine Calais who creates in iridescent paint, unique compositions with complex geometric shapes. Decors with a thousand facets, elaborate costumes, old ornaments, a Pictorial journey rich in Sensations and Reflections”.
