At the Internal Clinic of the Faculty Thomayer Hospital (FTN) in Prague, visiting restrictions apply from Wednesday. The reason is the epidemiological situation and the appropriate number of people who are infected with covid-19. The hospital stated this on its website. On the contrary, according to their spokesmen, visits are not limited in other Prague hospitals. However, the management of the hospital in the metropolis advises visitors to wear respirators or masks due to covid-19. It is mandatory to cover the roads in some departments of the hospital.
From Wednesday, people can visit patients at the FTN Internal Clinic only during limited visiting hours, on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m.
Visitors to the department can now enter the patient room in pairs at most. During the visit, you must have your mouth and nose protected by a respirator. According to hospital representatives, people who experience symptoms of a respiratory illness should also postpone their visit.
The wearing of respirators or disposable mouthpieces was introduced in the emergency department of the Faculty Hospital in Motola, Jana Merxbauerová said on behalf of the largest Czech hospital.
The same measures apply to people who want to visit their loved ones who have been hospitalized at the local neurological clinic or aftercare center. The hospital registers 21 covid-positive patients, most of whom have a mild course of the disease.
Respiratory protection must also be provided to emergency patients at the Na Františku Hospital in Prague 1. The city hospital also introduced the obligation to use a disposable face mask or respirator in July for visits to inpatient wards.
In other areas of the hospital, wearing respiratory protection is at the discretion of the patient or visitor. However, according to spokeswoman Lucie Krausová, the hospital recommends the wearing of mouthpieces or respirators, especially for patients during outpatient examinations.
At the General Faculty Hospital in Prague (VFN), where 19 patients infected with the coronavirus are currently being treated, according to spokeswoman Maria Heřmánková, there is currently an unlimited visiting regime.
“With the deteriorating covid situation, however, we ask everyone to observe basic hygiene rules and strongly recommend using respiratory protection, respirators of at least the FFP2 type in all internal spaces of the medical facility,” she said.
According to her, the number of hospitalized patients with covid-19 is rising slightly. In the past two weeks, about ten patients with covid-19 were treated at VFN. According to spokesperson Martina Dostálová, people who come to Na Homolce Hospital should also have their mouths and noses covered.
On their own websites the hospital said that people who go to visit hospitalized patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and the anesthesia-resuscitation unit (ARO) must also have a so-called disposable empire. This cloak can be purchased on the hospital premises.
