AS Monaco launches “Les Ruches Rouges & Blanches”
As part of the “Environment” pillar of its CSR policy, AS Monaco is launching the “Les Ruches Rouges & Blanches” program. Every 10 goals scored in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, a hive of bees will emerge in the Principality. Objective: raise awareness and act in favor of biodiversity.
If AS Monaco’s goals are sources of emotion for the Club’s supporters, they will also very soon allow the financing of… beehives!
10 goals in L1 = 1 funded hive
From this season, each time Wissam Ben Yedder and his teammates score 10 league goals, AS Monaco will finance the creation of a hive of 40,000 bees within one Terrae urban farms, in the Larvotto district, a few hundred meters from the Stade Louis-II. An ideal environment for them, the mortality rate of bees being, contrary to what one might think, lower in the city than in the countryside.
Last season, with more than 60 goals scored by the Monegasques, 6 hives would have been installed in the Principality, i.e. around 200,000 bees which would have taken up residence there and pollinated the local vegetation.

Promoting the preservation of bees: a commitment to biodiversity
While they are an essential link in our ecosystem and in the fight against global warming, bees are increasingly threatened (see below). By acting in favor of their preservation, AS Monaco, a major solidarity and eco-responsible actor on its territory, thus intends to work at its level, humbly but concretely, for biodiversity.
Part of the honey mentioned (6 to 8 kilos per hive) will be offered to the opposing delegations within the framework of traditional formal exchanges in order to promote, in the blink of an eye, Red & White honey throughout Europe, while various projects are being studied for the rest of the harvest. In addition, educational actions will be adapted for local youth. With “Les Ruches Rouges & Blanches”, the club of the Principality thus strengthens its local roots and confirms its dynamism on the societal field.
Bees, an essential species for the planet
While bees are essential to our biodiversity because of their action of pollinating plants, they are increasingly threatened. Global warming, the intensification of the use of pesticides and the expansion of the Asian hornet have indeed increased their mortality rate.
A major danger for the environment and humanity since according to the UN, 40% of what we eat and 80% of plant species on Earth depend directly on pollination. Who says less bees, therefore says threatened food security and accelerated regeneration because the CO2 we emit is less supplied by plants.
If bees, of which there are 1,000 different species in France and 20,000 throughout the world, have already proven during their very long history that they know how to adapt and resist successive climatic upheavals, the current disruption could be that of too. This is why it is our responsibility to help save them.
