Here is the announcement of the MTK:
“After Monday night’s MTK Budapest-Szeged-Csanád Grosics Academy NB II football match, a group of Szeged fans chanted anti-Semitic and hateful rhymes and left the MTK stadium and its surroundings. About the case video recording made by a startled 12-year-old MTK supporter who visited the match with her father. MTK Budapest condemns anti-Semitism and all forms of racism, and files a police report against an unknown perpetrator.
The MTK Budapest football team considers all anti-Semitic and racist expressions, hate speech against any minority, and fear-mongering to be unacceptable. We protest against the anti-Semitic behavior of the affected Szeged fans, who in some cases already chanted unacceptable rhymes during the match. We stand by our insulted, offended and threatened fans, and on behalf of the MTK family, we ask all our compatriots with good feelings to show solidarity with us.
Until now and even after this, MTK Budapest will not silently tolerate the hatred that evokes the darkest eras of history, and we would like to extend our sympathy to our fans – and in a broader sense to all Hungarian people – who may have felt insulted and threatened in their human dignity due to anti-Semitic expressions.
Due to the unacceptable behavior of their fans, I am asking for the cooperation of the Szeged-Csanád Grosics Academy football club in bringing the involved fans, who bring shame to their club and the city of Szeged, to justice within their own powers and within the framework of the legislation in order to prevent a similar case from happening in the future.
Due to what happened, MTK Budapest Labdarúgó Zrt. files a criminal complaint against an unknown perpetrator, and will continue to do so every time it encounters anti-Semitic, racist or hateful expressions.”
