First official short track international match won by the Netherlands
The Netherlands has won the first official short track international match. Southwind Raptor and pikeur Marco Spin triumphed in Santpoort and made with not only their compatriots, but also the guests from Belgium. Our southern neighbors defended themselves surprisingly well and, thanks to Cezar H and Francis Neirinck, took fourth place.
On Thursday afternoon, people were lined up along the fences in Santpoort-Noord as usual. Enthusiasts have been looking forward to the return to the Hoofdstraat for three years. This year there were 16 horses on the oldest short track in the Netherlands.
The battle was again an exciting one, between eight Dutch and eight Belgian participants. The board of the Harddraverij Vereniging Santpoort is extremely proud of the scoop of the first international match.
The totalizator also scored well on Thursday afternoon, which was the third-highest of all time. In total, this €133,322.50 was used on horse races for years. Only in 2019 was the turnover higher, then €147,777.50 was bet.
