The University for Foreigners of Siena welcomed 70 Turkish students
The opening of courses for Turkish students and adolescent students of the Evrim School and Italian high schools in Istanbul took place this morning at the headquarters of the University for Foreigners of Siena in Via Pispini. To welcome Carla Bagna, pro-rector of international relations and Sabrina Machetti, pro-rector of language certifications, together with Giovanni Amadori, coordinator of the group.
As in 2019, and after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this year too there are over 70 participants, in addition to 5 companions, who will carry out various activities from 2 to 26 August. Their program includes Italian language courses in the morning, laboratory activities in the afternoon: photography, comics, cooking, storytelling, sports and excursions. There will also be a moment of final sharing of the experience on 25 August with a “special” conclusion of the path, in the presence of the Rector, prof. Tommaso Montanari.
Turkey, for several years, has been an area of training, research, teaching of the Italian language and since 2011 the University for Foreigners of Siena has been welcoming female students from Italian schools and high schools to summer courses.
The initiatives anticipate those of the Week of the Italian Language which for 2022 has as its theme “The Italian language and young people” and which sees Unistrasi as a protagonist in different parts of the world.
