Rugby. Former international pillar and coach of Lyon, David Attoub joins a staff of National 1

Without a club since his departure Lyons last June, the former LOU scrum coach (from 2019 to 2022), David Attoub (41), has found a new base. The former pillar of international law (4 selections) has indeed signed up with CS Bourgoin Jallieuambitious club National 1whose sporting director is none other than Pascal Papé (41 years old; 65 selections), son ex-teammate at Stade Français and Castres, while the manager is the ex-scrum half of the XV of France, Sebastien Tillous Borde (37 years old; 19 selections).
He is named “specialist in rucks and ground game”
Born and trained in Valence (Drôme), before moving to Clermont-Ferrand, Castres, Stade Français, Montpellier and Lyon, David Attoub joined Ciel et Grenat as a “specialist in rucks and ground game, ”says the CSBJ in a press release. ” He will intervene once a week with our first team and will bring all its expertise in addition to our two coaches (Sébastien Tillous-Borde for three-quarters and Grégoire Pintiaux for the forwards, Ed) ”, adds the North Isère club.
Capped 4 times with the XV of France, between 2006 and 2012, the former pillar has a lot of high-level experience with 253 professional matches to his credit, including more than half at the Stade Français, from 2007 to 2014. Triple winner of the European Challenge (2004, 2011 and 2013) and French Pro D2 champion (2016 with LOU), he embarked on a career as a technician in 2018 at the end of his playing career, being in charge of the scrum lyonnaise for the past 4 seasons under the orders of manager Pierre Mignoni, who left for Toulon this summer.
He will also intervene with the youth teams of the CSBJ

It’s a club with a great history and a lot of ambitions”, rejoiced the interested party who will stay in Rhône-Alpes, where he is co-owner of the prestigious restaurant L’Île, located in Vernaison, in the Lyon suburbs, with his former teammates Pascal Papé and Sylvain Nicolas.
His friend Pascal Papé also welcomed this arrival which will still bring a little more professionalism to the Berjallian staff. “We wanted to bring additional skills to the current staff. David will be the offensive and defensive rucks and ground game specialist. His experience will be beneficial to the first team, but also to each of our categories since he will also intervene with our youngest, ”commented the former second line of the Blues and current sports director of Bourgoin-Jallieu.
