McDonald’s: – The burger favorite is coming to Norway
Earlier this year, McDonald’s in Denmark took the customers’ wishes into account and launched a brand new burger variant with an ever-so-slight upgrade:
On top of the regular burger were three cheese-filled balls, called Chili Cheese Tops.
– This is a burger created by our guests. Therefore, it is extra great to put it on the menu, says communications manager for McDonald’s in Norway, Kristina Johansen, in a press release.
– We are offered that the Cheese Tops Burger is as popular in Norway as in Denmark, she elaborates.

Rejected Norwegian burger plans
When the news came in April that Cheese Tops Burgers appeared on Danish McD menus, there were no reactions to them.
In a few hours, as many as 6,000 people had taken to the comment section to express their opinion about the new burger, reported the Danish online newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
In April, Dagbladet spoke to the then communications manager for McDonald’s in Norway, Veronika Skagestad.
Then the message was that they had no plans to offer it in Norway.
– You can make your own version, if you wish, by ordering Chili Cheese Tops and putting them on top of our classic burger yourself, was the proposal from Skagestad.

– Record high demand
Now the pipa has got a different sound. Kristina Johansen says that she is used to the Norwegian reception.
– The burger has become enormously popular in Denmark, with a record high demand. It would have been fun if it took off just as well in Norway, says Johansen in the press release.
At the same time, she does not dare to predict the same trends that have been set in Denmark.
– It will be interesting to see if Norwegians get just as excited about the Cheese Tops Burger as Danes, she says.
