Jarmil from Okresní přebor: Sometimes I go home for turkeys all over Prague on foot
Do you still go to Liberec? Do you have your seats there?
Yes, I’m there quite often and I have more favorite places there. For example, at the dam, then Starý Harcov and beyond. At any time of the year, he likes to go to Ještěd, where I have “my” rock garden. I sit there, look at Liberec and clear my head.
Do you like to travel?
I’m very happy, but I haven’t been anywhere for a long time now. I travel a lot during the season with the theater or with Real Top Praha, which is the one for which I do football charity. It is with Real Top that we get to different parts of our country.

Do you have time to look around, or do you only know football pitches?
You are right that as far as looking around is concerned, it is no glory. It is more likely to succeed if we have the opportunity to spend the night on the spot, and this happens rather in exceptional cases. We have been playing every weekend since the beginning of May and there are many matches. Then we go to do a good deed on Saturday and quickly return home. So I’m more of a connoisseur of football pitches than of the surroundings.
Where have the most picturesque football pitches?
I just recently had a job in Slovakia in Poprad and coincidentally we had a base camp on the field of a local football club, it was really wonderful. The pitch was between fields, surrounded by tall poplars, behind which stood the High Tatras, which looked as if they had been drawn. So, in particular, I really liked this course, which was helped by the excellent visibility, thanks to which you could see the beautiful nature.
It seems that the mountain is in you. When you see the mountains, they awaken in you.
Not that I’m totally into tourism, no. I would probably offend all the tourists. And if I said that I burned, I would be insulting all the mountains. In short, I like it, that’s why I go to the mountains every year. Mainly snowboarding, because I’m no stranger to snow and hills. But the fact is that I like to go. For example, after Prague. All my work is in the center and I live in Dejvice. If I hang out in a pub after work, I walk leisurely from Žižkov to Dejvice.
What connects you to Žižkov?
Playing on the summer stage under the Žižkov tower, which is the dominant feature of this part of the city. And I’m really looking forward to that beautiful space, which is also covered and where nice things play. I hope the audience will come to see us there.

So can it happen that after a performance on the summer stage of the Kalich Theater you will walk home only to the grouse?
If it gets dark and I leave later, i.e. at the time of dawn in an hour, since the journey on foot is about an hour, I arrive for the grouse. But you can also leave earlier. (laughs) Then I come home after dark.
Where else do you like in Prague? Is it Dejvice where you live?
Yes, I really like it there. When you cross the railway crossing from Hradčanská to Pelléova street, you have the feeling that you were in the big city a while ago and suddenly you are in a bit of a village. I like it there for the atmosphere, which somehow reminds me of Liberec. It’s because it’s quiet, it’s a smaller neighborhood where I feel comfortable. And when I go to the center from Dejvice for work, it takes the same time as when I go to the center in Liberec from the place where I was born. In short, it reminds me of my hometown. That’s why I like Dejvice.
