Chinese Golf Club Portugal dominates Pro-Am in Aroeira – Golf
Tiago Cruz won the Pro-Am of the Hyundai Absolute National Championship, the event that ended the official schedule of the tournament that the Portuguese Golf Federation organized at Aroeira Pines Classics, in the municipality of Almada, with 20 thousand euros in classic prizes drawn.
The 2014 2015 national championship led the E team of the Clube Chinês de Golfe Portugal, made up of amateurs Eduardo Pires, Ruan Gaohua and Tianbiao Lin 112 ‘stableford net’ points, with a handicap percentage of 85%.
There were 17 teams on the field and more than a third of them, in a total of seven, belonged to this Chinese Golf Club Portugal.
to what Record to find out, Chinese, members of other clubs, with the handicaps that other teams managed, but they got together in a group and bought seven formations for this Prom. “He for this club, but they are ready for Aro Menosa, Penha and Belas, that’s what I realized”, said the Record Tiago Cruz, who also explained why there were such first results, as the six teams surpassed 100 points!
“This modality in which we played is different from what we are used to and gives the possibility to those who have players with handicaps on the team. This is because we choose the best shot at the start and then we each play our ball until the final hole”, explained the coach of the Estoril Golf Club.
Then, at each hole, the two best scores of the four are chosen, which is why the evaluation is so difficult.
For Tiago Cruz, playing tactics became easy, when he realized this two-player system: “There were players with 30 and 31 handicaps and another with 16 handicaps. I would have the 16-year-old play first and if he put the ball on the fairway I would attack later. As they made fairways and gave very long drives, they then had shots from 100 meters down, which made it easier for high handicap players to do in pairs for two points. It was a beauty.”
“It was a team that completed itself well”, Tiago Cruz, who finished in 14th place in the main tournament (+10), but came to second place in a fateful last lap of 82 (+10). “Pedro Lencart deserved the victory very much. He didn’t give anyone a chance. It was a great result of -20”, praised Cruz.
