Lisbon Bus Station workers go on 24-hour strike this Monday – Observer
Workers at the Rodoviária de Lisboa (RL) are currently on a 24-hour stoppage, starting at 3:00 am, to claim salary improvements, a union source told Lusa.
This will be the 15th strike that the RL owners will carry out since July last year, with the last strike taking place on July 1, when a strike notice was also presented to the July overtime.
Speaking to the Lusa agency, João Cairo, from the Sindicasim Dos Trabalhadores da Rodoviária De Lisboa (SITRL), explained that the workers’ reasons for the last stoppage, that is, an increase of 75 euros, in order to “compensate for the rise in the minimum wage ”.
The trade unionist continues without giving an answer, he also said that of the workers.
Among the hours scheduled for updating the salary of the other workers in the same percentage as the two employees, the update also makes equal to the difference of the meal in the same terms, the reduction of the interval of the rest interval to the maximum of two increases of the interval of rest for maximum maintenance life and appreciation.
Currently, Rodoviária de Lisboa, a road passenger transport company, operates in the municipalities of Lisbon, Loures, Odivelas Vila Franca de Xira, all in the district of Lisbon, serving around 400 thousand inhabitants.
In January 2023, RL should integrate the newly created Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa, which will operate in the 18 municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
