Lyon: a charity concert for the 40th anniversary of Handicap International this Sunday
Two Lyon NGOs, Handicap International and Forum Réfugiés, celebrate their 40 years of solidarity commitment this Sunday, July 31 at the Roman Theater of Fourvière.
The two Lyon-based NGOs Handicap International and Refugee Forum are celebrating their 40 years of solidarity commitment this Sunday, July 31 (7 p.m.) with a concert at the Roman Theater, where the nights of Fourvière end this Saturday evening. Handicap International works for people with disabilities in countries at war while Refugee Forum intervenes in France, for the reception of displaced persons, in good conditions.
Irma, Sanseverino or even the Stéphanois of Terrenoire
Are expected on stage, Irma, Sanseverino, Karimouche, Agoria and Terrenoire. “We can never give enough credit to these artists for giving their time, because they come graciously”explains Xavier du Crest, the France director of Handicap International.
“This evening is also about celebrating the 40th anniversary of an entire territory who saw us born, who accompanied us, who still welcomes us permanently, made up of volunteers, donors, institutions… A whole ecosystem without which we could not be what we are today”he admits.
The evening will be punctuated by testimonies with in particular two Ukrainian refugees and an Afghan woman. She will be sponsored by the actress and president of the Institut Lumière, Irene Jacob. The funds collected will be reversed to the two associations.
