A morning in Vienna to awaken your taste buds
Once off the TER, immediately take the small streets of downtown Vienne to reach the second largest market in France, Place de Miremont. Daily market which is held from Tuesday to Sunday every morning, with 6 km of linear and nearly 400 participants. Thus, you will walk in Vienna, while stirring up your appetite.
In the heart of the city center, in the small cobbled streets, you will not fail to find many places to eat. Vienna is a city known for the many vineyards that surround it. You will find certified restaurants Vineyards & Discoveries is committed to offering a local wine list. As for gastronomy, located between Isère and the South, you will find both regional specialties and more southern products. For all tastes and all budgets.
Journey to the time of the Romans for an afternoon
The afternoon, for its part, can be placed under the sign of culture. Former colony of the Roman Empire, ideally located in the Rhone Valley, Vienne has an ancient theater that can be visited. After the museum, and to reach the other bank, our walk will take us along the quay Along Herbouville the Rhone. VSThis will take you to the Passerelle, a pedestrian bridge, from where you will enjoy a 360° view of the city and its remains.
On the way back, it is possible to pass near the Temple of Augustus and Livia, the first Roman emperor and his wife. This monument is one of the essential ancient remains of the city center. Before taking the train back to Lyon, take the time to admire it while sipping a coffee on one of the many terraces located just opposite.
